SABIC GENERAL MANAGER OF GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY WILL DELIVER SUSTAINABILITY PLENARY ADDRESS AT SPE EUROTEC™ 2011

Frank Kuijpers

NEWTOWN, CT, U.S.A., June 28, 2011: Frank Kuijpers, general manager of global technology for SABIC, will be a plenary speaker at the first SPE EUROTEC™ plastics technical conference, it was announced today by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).

EUROTEC 2011 will be held November 14-15 in conjunction with the Equiplast exposition in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Kuijpers’ presentation, titled Future Polymer Developments Driven by Global Sustainability Solutions, will be delivered on Monday, November 14, 2011.

A key theme in the presentation will be the critical importance of polymer producers taking responsibility for driving sustainability solutions in resin development. This requires improving the footprint of current polymers by optimizing the value chain and looking for feedstock alternatives; and focusing on the large potential for society to utilize polymers in sustainable solutions addressing global growth.

Frank Kuijpers began his career with DSM NV, serving first in the Stamicarbon subsidiary as a process engineer for DSM’s solution and high pressure processes. While at DSM, he held positions in engineering, manufacturing, business, and corporate staff departments. In 2000, he moved into executive management of R&D, strategy planning and development, and large capital projects. In 2002 he joined SABIC. Since 2009 he has held the position of General Manager of Global Technology.

Mr. Kuijpers holds an MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
