WEALTH OF RESOURCES HELP MAKE VISITING NPE2015 EASIER AND MORE PRODUCTIVE FOR INTERNATIONAL ATTENDEES

Largest and Most Comprehensive Plastics Event in the World Will Attract Industry Professionals from 120 Countries

WASHINGTON, DC, U.S.A., November 6, 2014: Resources provided by NPE2015 show management, the U.S. government, and the city of Orlando, Florida will help international visitors get the most benefit from next year’s greatest plastics industry event, it was announced today by SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association, producer of the triennial NPE.

Scheduled for March 23-27, 2015 in Orlando, NPE2015 will attract plastics professionals from 120 countries. These international visitors can now go online at www.npe.org to register for NPE2015, make reservations at hotels offering special rates for attendees, and access important information relevant to attendees from outside the U.S. Extensive multi-lingual information is also available online from the U.S, Department of Commerce regarding visitor delegations and visas, and from the city of Orlando regarding the wealth of attractions in the area.

SPI is preparing resources and amenities for use by international visitors at the show itself, including an International Trade Center at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, where NPE2015 will take place.

“International visitors will come to NPE2015 because it is a showplace for all the latest technologies and is situated at the crossroads of global trade, with exhibitors, conference presenters, and attendees from around the world,” said Gene Sanders, SPI senior vice president of trade shows and conferences. “It will be a unique opportunity to gain access to the giant marketplace of the Americas, which stretches from Canada to Chile and has annual plastics shipments in excess of $600-billion.”

NPE2015 will include the NPE trade show, with 2,000 exhibiting companies; an extensive agenda of conferences; and multiple special programs focusing on 3D printing, recycling, and other matters now of intense interest in the industry. About 40% of the exhibitors will come directly from outside the U.S., as will at least 25% of the 60,000 visitors. Attendance from Latin America is expected to be the greatest in NPE history.

Valuable Information for International Visitors to NPE2015

The NPE2015 website at www.npe.org has a special section for international attendees and also includes information in multiple languages. Topics of particular importance to these visitors include:

--- U.S. Visas. SPI urges visitors who require visas to enter the U.S. to begin the application process early to ensure that visas are obtained in time for travel to NPE2015. The process includes being interviewed at a U.S. embassy or consulate in one’s home country and requires a formal letter of invitation from SPI, which can be requested from SPI during registration to attend NPE2015. The document Visa Interview Tips is available in the International Visitors section at www.npe.org. Information on the visa process is available from the U.S. State Department at http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.html.

--- International Buyer Delegations. Under the auspices of the International Buyer Program (IBP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, trade promotion officials stationed in U.S. embassies and consulates around the world are organizing official buyer delegations to NPE2015. Each IBP buyer delegation will be led by a U.S. government trade official based in that country. These delegation leaders will set up meetings at the show between each participant and the U.S. exhibitors that he or she has indicated an interest in contacting. They can also provide expert advice on matters ranging from obtaining a U.S. visa to doing business at NPE2015. Questions about the IBP’s export programs and services at NPE2015 can be directed to Mark Wells at mark.wells@trade.gov. Visitors to the U.S. Commercial Service website at http://www.buyusa.gov can access pages in many languages on doing business with U.S. exporters.

--- International Trade Center at NPE2015. SPI will host this facility at the OCCC to promote trade between the U.S. and other countries. Services and amenities available in the Center will include confidential meeting rooms and interpreter services. The Center will be staffed with specialists from the U.S. Department of Commerce, interpreters fluent in several languages, and SPI personnel equipped to answer questions relating to NPE2015 exhibitors and products. In addition, a concierge staff will be available to assist with questions about Orlando and its attractions.

--- Information on Orlando. In addition to a special section of www.npe.org providing information on Orlando attractions and discounts for NPE2015 attendees, the website www.visitorlando.com provides a wealth of information in English and seven other languages. Multilingual information on the OCCC is available at www.occc.net.
